Whey protein concentrate is similar to whey protein; however, during the filtering process minerals, organic matter and water are removed.   The larger proteins that cannot fit are accumulated and formed into protein powder.  After the filtering process is complete the protein powder can be made into whey protein concentrate.

This type of protein is digested and absorbed effectively in the body.  This type of protein contains up to 5% lactose, which can be a problem for anyone who has an intolerance to lactose. Whey protein concentrate has only traces of fat and cholesterol and can have 29%-80% protein, which varies between brands.  Ideally selecting a brand that is above 60% protein will be the most beneficial to the user.
